June 28, 2009 - Senator Raymond Luca participated in a debate, in Iasi, concerning the role of the Romanian Diaspora, organized by the Group for Social Dialogue.
June 22-27, 2009 - Senator Raymond Luca participated in an official visit to China led by the President of the Senate, Mr. Mircea Geoana. The visit marked 60 years since the signing of the first bilateral treaty between the Romanian and Chinese states. During this visit, various meetings took place with state officials, such as Mr. Jia Qinglin, the president of the Political Consultative Conference of the Chinese People, Mr. Wu Bangguo, the president of the Permanent Committee of the National People's Assembly, as well as with business representatives from Shanghai.
June 19, 2009 - Senator Raymond Luca met with Her Excellency Madam Marta Moszczenska, the Canadian ambassador to Romania. During this meeting, Senator Raymond Luca and Her Excellency discussed various common projects of the two states, especially with regards to the Agreement on Social Security between Canada and Romania, agreement which will be signed at the beginning of 2010 at the latest.
