RESTITUTIONS- Continuing the reparations process for the injustices committed by the communist regime.

The law that was recently passed in Romania, setting a moratorium on all claims of repossession for property that was confiscated during the communist regime represents a victory for the retrograde communistic powers.

It is necessary to rally all the democratic forces in Parliament in order to pass a law continuing the reparations process. As such, not only the previous owners of confiscated goods can enjoy a correct compensation. There are also the cases of those who were forced to accept an insignificant price so that they may leave the country. Furthermore, there are the cases of those who were forced to pay their studies in Romania before being allowed to leave. In both cases we are dealing with blackmail, and its consequences cannot be tolerated to the present day. A just and correct compensation is mandatory in both cases.
